What it is
Float therapy takes place in a quiet float tank filled with shallow, skin-temperature water and a high concentration of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). The salt makes the water so buoyant that you float effortlessly on the surface, with no strain on your muscles or joints.
With light and sound kept to a minimum, your body and mind get a rare chance to fully unwind.
How it can help
- Reduces stress and encourages deep relaxation
- Eases muscle tension as your body fully rests
- Supports better sleep
- Helps restore focus and mental clarity
- Takes pressure off your joints while you float
What to expect
Shower before you float, then lie back and let the water hold you up. Earplugs are usually provided to keep water out of your ears. When your session ends, shower again to rinse off the salt.
Good to know
Avoid shaving or waxing right before your float, because the salt water can sting. Let us know if you're pregnant, have epilepsy, open cuts or a skin condition, or low blood pressure, so we can help you decide whether floating is right for you.
